New stake presidencies

Two new stakes have been created, one in New Zealand and one in Peru.

The Arequipa Peru Zamacola Stake, which includes the Aeropuerto, Belaunde, Buenos Aries, Chachani, Francisco Bolognesi, Villa Continental, and Zamacola wards, has been created by Elder Carl B. Pratt, an area authority.The Tauranga New Zealand Stake, which includes the Greerton, Mount Maunganui, Otumoetai, Welcome Bay, and Whakatane wards, and the Katikati, and Opotiki branches, has been created by Elder Bruce C. Hafen of the Seventy.

Elsewhere, stakes have been reorganized in Bolivia, Brazil, South Africa, and Uruguay, and in Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, and Utah.

AREQUIPA PERU ZAMACOLA STAKE: (Feb. 23, 1997) Created from the Arequipa Peru Umacollo Stake. President - Federico Antonio Rosas M., 31, plant manager; wife, Fabiola Rodriguez V. de Rosas. Counselors - Elias Mamani C., 43, taxicab driver; wife, Anselma Jihuallanca F. de Mamani. Prudencio Idme G., 44, worker; wife, Carmen Uargas de Idme.

TAURANGA NEW ZEALAND STAKE: (Feb. 9, 1997) Created from the Rotorua New Zealand Stake, and Whakatane New Zealand District. President - Robert Solomon, 53, self-employed logging contractor; wife, Evelyn Harriett Paora Solomon. Counselors - Ivor Joseph Anderson, 39, wife, Donna Marie Birch Anderson. Andy Griffen, 50, self-employed tax agent; wife, Karen Violet Griffen.
