Seven mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1, 2009. Their mission assignments will be announced later.

Bruce H. and Maureen Allcott

Bruce Howard Allcott, 58, and Maureen Olsen Allcott, six children, Burley 9th Ward, Burley Idaho Stake. Brother Allcott is a former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, counselor in a bishopric, high priest group leader and missionary in the Russia Novosibirsk and Netherlands missions. Retired fire chief, city of Burley, Idaho. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gordon Albert and Joanne Van Os Allcott. Sister Allcott served with her husband in the Russia Novosibirsk Mission and is a former stake Young Women president and secretary, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary counselor and chorister and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Keith Milford and Della Beth Rowberry Olsen.

Meliula M. and Ponaivao L. Fata

Meliula Meafou Fata, 58, and Ponaivao Liua Fata, six children, Mountain View Ward, Auckland New Zealand Manukau Stake. Brother Fata is a ward family history consultant and a former stake president, counselor in the Samoa Apia Mission presidency, bishop, high councilor and regional welfare agent. Director/publisher, Samoanius Weekly Newspaper. Born in Apia, Samoa, to Fata Meafou and Faauiga Kirisome. Sister Fata is a former counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, ward Young Women president and ward Relief Society teacher. Born in Apia, Samoa, to Liua Pati Punimata and Siua Fulu.

Sam and Melina Galvez

Sam M. Galvez, 40, and Melina Flor de Maria De Leon de Galvez, four children, Don Justo Ward, Guatemala City Guatemala Stake. Brother Galvez is a branch president in the Guatemala Missionary Training Center and a former stake president and counselor, bishop and counselor, high councilor and missionary in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission. Area project manager for the Church. Born in Guatemala to Jose Maria Galvez and Enohe Orellana Casasola de Galvez. Sister Galvez is a counselor in the ward Relief Society presidency and a Relief Society teacher in the Guatemala Missionary Training Center and is a former stake Relief Society president, counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Primary president, ward Young Women adviser and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala, to Cesar Vitalino De Leon Celada and Bertha Bernabela Cabrera de De Leon.

Kerving H. and Daphnee Joseph

Kerving Hardwarson Joseph, 29, and Daphnee Mikhael Christophe Joseph, two children, Croix-Des-Missions Ward, Port-au-Prince Haiti North Stake. Brother Joseph is a counselor in the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission and a former high councilor, ward Sunday School president, ward clerk and missionary in the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission. Coordinator, Church Educational System. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to J. Jordany and Marie Formulet Joseph. Sister Joseph is a ward Relief Society president and is a former ward Sunday School teacher and missionary in the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Jean Guy and Ginette Laurent Christophe.

Joaquim J. and Maria Isabel Moreira

Joaquim Jorge Oliveira Moreira, 43, and Maria Isabel Carvalho Moreira, three children, Sao Joao da Madeira Ward, Porto Portugal Stake. Brother Moreira is a branch president and a former counselor in the Portugal Porto Mission presidency, stake president, high councilor, branch president and missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission. Regional coordinator, Church Educational System. Born in Porto, Portugal, to Vitalino Jose Borges Pires Moreira and Isolina de Jesus Oliveira. Sister Moreira is a counselor in the branch Relief Society presidency and a former branch Primary president, counselor in stake Primary and Relief Society presidencies and missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission. Born in Angola to Armando Augusto Moreira and Maria Belmira de Carvalho.

S. Mark and Jacqueline A. Palmer

Stanley Mark Palmer, 53, and Jacqueline Ann Wood Palmer, six children, Barton Creek Ward, Austin Texas Oak Hills Stake. Brother Palmer is a former stake president and counselor, bishop and counselor, high councilor, high priest group leader and missionary in the New Zealand Wellington Mission. President, SMP Ventures. Born in Te Puke, New Zealand, to Kenneth Molony and Jill Beeban Garlick Palmer. Sister Palmer is a former counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women president, ward Relief Society teacher, seminary teacher and missionary in the Spain Barcelona Mission. Born in Rochdale, England, to James and Audrey Naylor Wood.

Scott B. and Juliet C. Smedley

Scott Brunson Smedley, 58, and Juliet Chlarson Smedley, six children, Park Ward, Layton Utah Creekside Stake. Brother Smedley is a Scoutmaster and a former bishop and counselor, counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, Varsity Scout coach and missionary in the Southeast Asia Mission. Insurance agent, Beneficial Life. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Dale Thurgood and Helen Delell Brunson Smedley. Sister Smedley is the ward activity committee chairman and is a former stake and ward Relief Society president, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency, ward Primary president and missionary in the Uruguay/Paraguay Mission. Born in Brigham City, Utah, to Varsel Lyman and Ruth Hunsaker Chlarson.
